I spent a lot of time writing For Love of Country, sharing my heart and why I’m so concerned about the future of our country.
In this book, I share stories of growing up in Hawaii, events that shaped my worldview, my time in Congress, and what I saw behind the curtain of the Democratic National Committee.
Most importantly, I share what ultimately led me to leave the Democrat Party behind. It’s why I’m urging other independent-minded Democrats who love our country and cherish peace and freedom to do the same and join this fight to save our country.
I’ll be honest — this book wasn’t easy to write. We live in troubled times. Our nation is divided. Our leaders are failing us. Our country’s future can sometimes feel bleak.
Sometimes I wish I could just tune out all the noise and go out for a long surf at my favorite break. But there is too much at stake in this moment for patriots like you and me to put on blinders and stand on the sidelines.
I took an oath to defend our country and our freedoms. I can’t sit idly by while the elite in Washington erode our Constitutional rights, jeopardize our national security, enable wide open borders, and stoke the flames of identity politics and division even further.
I wrote this book not just to share my story, but to serve as a wakeup call for what’s truly going on in our great Republic… and what we as patriotic, God-loving Americans can and must do to save her.
If we fail to act, it may be too late. Our future and freedom are in our hands… and I have never been more optimistic of our ability to rise up and do what must be done to save our country.

With aloha and gratitude,
I have been a registered Independent for years because I couldn't fully align with Republicans or Democrats when it came to checking my registration box to identify my party affiliation. I typically voted for more Republicans than Democrats. Simply at the end of the day I voted with my head and not my feelings around 1 or 2 social issues. More now than ever I find myself trying to understand the extreme views of left wing Democrats. I also think some Republicans need to stop trying to go all in on abolishing abortion and forcing personal opinion and views on others. I guess I find the Democrat stand on wide open no cut off disturbing as well. So I ask what happened to centrist, common sense, and independent thinking, truth seekers who know how to compromise to get things done? Tulsi, I commend you and support your journey to uncover the corruption and lunacy.
